| tag | |||
|
Any identifying mark or label. In HTML, the language in which
websites are written, the markings used identify what's to be done
with the text in a document. Tags describe the structure of the
text as well as its relationship to other documents. An example of a tag used to describe how text is to be displayed is the blod tag. In HTML to make the sentence: "This sentence is bold" actually display as bold you would add the following html tags like this: <b>This sentence is bold</b> A common way of using a tag to describe the relationship of one piece of text to another or one document to another is the hyperlink. We ue hyperlinks all the time in browsing the web. This is what we click to move around from one place to another on the Internet and is, in fact, one of the features of html that have made the web such an entertaining and useful tool. |
